My first time here, and probably the last. We went for the Easter Brunch ($65 per person), and the food was OK but not spectacular. The service was mediocre and besides the view, the place is not much to look at. The bill for two (with one Mimosa each) + tax & gratuity was $200. Definitely not worth it. Going to Abe & Louie's next year ;)
The view truly is stunning and mesmerizing- no doubts about it! Unfortunately, the service, set up and food do not live up to the great back drop. I attended a group party, where they did not have all their wine selection until half way through the event. Meal was set up in a cafeteria-like table, serving the worse clam chowder in whole of New England. It was the least inspired and elegant menu.
Top of the Hub is the most overrated restaurant in Boston. Terrible food. Decent service. The view is incredible, so I would recommend coming here for a drink and/or dessert instead of spending a ton on a sub-par meal.
Usually places that feature a great view offer up mediocre food. But I thought that all the dishes were excellent--interesting and well-prepared.
Stunning views. The food is good, but not amazing. The cookie assortment, for instance, contained about 15 toll-house mix cookies, rather than a small selection of gourmet fare. The vegetable lasagna was decidedly mediocre. The service was very good, except for the fact that the food came somewhat too quickly. That said, I nevertheless highly recommend dining here for the views. Top of the Hub makes profits on real estate, not on food.
