Extremely attentive service, gorgeous views of Boston Common, and killer food. As much a wine venue as a food venue - each item on the menu is matched to a series of wines from the amazing wine collection.
This is the best Theater District restaurant, if not Boston's best. A table at the window overlooking the Commons sets the stage for a wonderful experience. The service is perfect. The dishes are exquisitely prepared and presented. The wine list is extensive and reasonably-priced, whether by the glass, specifically paired with your dish, or by the bottle. We had the octopus, langoustines, duck, and suckling pig. You must eat here.
An amazing meal! Cavatelli appetizer with black truffles, mushrooms -over the top. Dover sole prepared with greens, squash, chestnuts lasagna style - crab claw on the side amazing. The waiter, exceptional service especially as a woman traveling alone. I didn't feel awkward. He recommended a fabulous tempranillo. Didn't have room for dessert but he bought me a yummy chocolate cup filled with caramel. Definitely return when back in Boston
An exquisite meal. The cavetelli appetizer with mushrooms, black truffles was over the top. The Dover sole with chestnuts, crab claw, squash lasagna style was amazing. The waiter offered such wonderful service. This was especially important for me as I was traveling alone on business, didn't feel awkward at all. He suggested a beautiful full bodied tempranillo by the glass and i ended up having 2. I didn't have room for dessert but
Upstairs dining room offers beautiful Common view, very comfortable. Service impeccable, professional, and very friendly. Terrific wine list, both old/new world, very fairly priced. I had the beet salad to start, then the striped bass entree, both were outstanding. Seems Chris is broadening his flavor profile a bit, with great results. Cheese cart heavy on French fromages, at least a dozen. Love Troquet, won't take me another 4 yrs to come back.
