Beautiful Place, Common Food. We were excited to try Twist based on the many reviews that mentioned/implied that Twist's food was innovative and Zagat's review mentioning "amazing approach to ingredients." We ran to this place during our latest Las Vegas stay. Having been to Joel Robuchon a few times before, we were expecting something at least close regarding the taste level of the food, the sophistication of ingredient mix, etc. Not the case.
Very good, but not quite as impressive as Robuchon. Spectacular interior being located in the sky lobby of the fabulous Mandarin Oriental. The food is innovative, and I did have the Colorado Lamb which was marvelous.
Tries too hard. Every course of the 6 course tasting menu was several dishes, both hot & cold, that did not all suit each other. Some were good, some not. Overuse of separate plates makes it tough on the waiters--not enough room on the tables and each course takes multiple people to serve causing service to slow to a snails pace as the restaurant fills. They seated a guy in shorts and flip flops near us and he played with his feet while eating!
Intricate, innovative French cuisine accompanied by impeccable service and a gorgeous view of Vegas.
A amazing but crazy restuarant ! Decor is incredible, but food is almost too crazy. Everything is deconstructed and on multiple plates. The wierd combinations (like the side of brocolli green curry ice crean that came with my never never veal) don't always complement each other. Service is outstanding, I was given 5 amuse bouches before my appetizer !
