  • This is the best Japanese restaurant I have enjoyed yet, the food and presentation are truly edible art, every sushi and sashimi piece is fresh and outrageously delicious, the cooked food is awesome. They have all the choices and more that some other great Japanese restaurants have and in good portions. Sum it up: Great food, good value, friendly people, pleasant surroundings. YOU CAN NOT GO WRONG - IT IS WORTH THE TRIP TO UMI

This is an ok sushi place whose owners are laughing all the way to the bank when they charge you an extra $1.00 per roll for some black rice & 50 cents for brown rice. The sashimi is pedistrian and the cooked foods are passable. Cheaper to buy a ten pound bag of edaname for what they charge you for an appetizer. Nice selection of sakes. They coupon which is good for the Oceanside wanna-bee crowd. There are better choices than this in the area

  • Mr. Yung the owner really went out of his way to make my sister's birthday party a success. We had a cocktail party for 40 people and the food was amazing. All of our guests had a great time and loved all the appertizes that Mr. Yung had selected for us. He accommodated both sushi and non sushi eaters. The rock shrimp, crab salad and calamari were some of the favorites. The sushi boats were fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant

  • A trendy, artsy Japanese restaurant. The building was originally built as an Italian restaurant, and many of the marble and tuscan architecture remains, with Asain influences added. The rolls are delicious as are the regular (if not somewhat smallish portion) dishes.
