cheapprices, quality food, cool decor
What a great find -- very good food in a lovely (if hard to find) country setting. It has a 60's style Alice's Restaurant vibe, and the locals -- a mix of retired academics, country walkers, and bikers -- make for great people watching. The coffee is uninspired but available for endless refills, and it's a great place to settle in with a laptop or a book and work away the day.
A local institution serving delicious soups, salads, entrees, and desserts with specials changing daily. Very informal. Superb fresh fish dishes, but everything is outrageously good for such a low key place. Great for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Can be very crowded on weekends. Patrons stand on line to order, and your food is delivered to your table when ready. Worth the wait.
Nice little coffee shop with sandwiches, soups, etc. Prices hefty for the quantity, but tasty and well prepared. Summer can be busy with tourists, bikers, etc. Live music at times.
A nice place for lunch on your ride thru the Northeast part of Conn.Have eaten ther many time and always enjoy the laidback style.
