Versailles is a treat for us, especially on Saturday or Sunday mornings. Breakfast/Brunch is really a special experience. Love the eggs Florentine, and my daughters always order the crepes or french toast. The croissants are spectacular, and if I go to a party, bringing one of their quiches for a lunch or an opera cake for a dessert--those are always huge hits.
My wife loves to go here with her girlfriends. Every time I go with her, I'm the only guy there. It's a noisy, cramped, small table dining room. Food is OK without being great. Unfortunately, this seems to be the standard for most of Greenwich. Just as I've said for other establishments, there's no WoW! factor here. It tries to be a French fare but it's more cosmopolitan and service stinks. Boring place. Nothing really bad, just nothing great.
Price represents breakfast for two. I have eaten lunch and brunch here and the food is fine, and wines very good. Pasteries, desserts, coffees are all fabulous. But this restaurant has a dreadful problem with service. Between the time we placed our order and received our beverage (coffee), it was a full 25 minutes! Then it took another 15 to be served. It was a business breakfast so we had 15-20 minutes to eat before moving on.
Versailles is a wonderful French experience from the food to the decor. Our portions were large from salad to dessert and the main course was absolutely superb. We were served at a perfect pace from a friendly staff and we left with smiles on our faces. A definite must-dine experience and our new favorite spot.
Delicious.
