This is great comfort food. The vermicelli bowls are fantastic. The pork is sweet. And the rest of the fare is a wonderful, indulgent treat.
Outstanding selection and food quality in a neighborhood that's sadly lacking in higher-end services. This must be one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in Houston. But I do agree that the 29 score is a bit high. I think it fits more of a 26, but that's still a very good rating. Try the Vietnam Tofu or the eggplant dish. Neither of those are things I like but are fantastic the way they prepare it.
Went in for lunch, nothing special. Too much oil, nothing standing out
food was good & decor very nice, however the wait staff need a lesson on customer service. we were some of the first customers in last evening and all 5 of the staff were too busy socializing in the back to pay any attention to our needs. i actually had to wave both my hands in the air several times to get anyone's attention. The waitress that came by seemed bothered and screwed up the request to our waitress. will take my business elsewhere.
Twenty-nine? Seriously? This is a decent, ordinary, asian restaurant, with a couple of standout dishes (the Vietnamese Beef, for example) which, still, are subject to inconsistent preparation. Ratings like this, topping the list of restaurants in Houston, where there are so many truly fine restaurants, makes no sense. This place is a good lunch stop, and I eat there a couple of times a month, but there's no justifying its current position.
