This is what every restaurant on Shelter Island should aspire to, no matter what the target meal price is. It proves what creative, thoughtful dedication to great food and service should be. Not that it's perfect for highly critical diners who can always find fault. Simple, fresh, with careful presentation always wins in the end. FYI: the jalapeno margarita with fresh lime and orange juice, silver tequila is as close to perfect as you can get.
Limited, not especially creative, choices, but most superbly prepared. Plain, roadhouse style decor, with too many hard surfaces (noisy when busy; the back room is quieter). Dimly lit -- we sometimes need a flashlight to read the menu, and I once left too small a tip because I misread the bill. Service varies in our experience.
The restaurant is a breath of fresh air to the hectic nightlife of the Hampton's. The food is great and they do honor a reservation.
Don't know what all thehype is about - it's good, not great with long waits in the summer.
Alway have great food and service. It is on Shelter Island, but worth the trip.
