We've enjoyed MANY visits for dinner at "The Moose" over the past 6 years with, both, friends and family. Perfect "pressed jeans" kind of casual place. The dishes are deliciously inventive, well put together with a very obvious level of care. Good beer on-tap and decent, albeit limited, wine selection. Service ALWAYS good, even on busy weekends. Location is a charmer, of course. Grab a patio table on a warm summer night.
Fun, low-key, relaxed and well-priced food.
Decent restaurant, but getting better over the past couple years. The service is hit-or-miss. The staff is working to improve this restaurant, and has so far been succeeding.
I am a New York City resident foodie who has traveled the world and no matter where I go, the Wandering Moose remains my absolute favorite restaurant. The food is consistently fresh and amazing. The chef/owner is gifted. The restaurant is warm, friendly, quaint and casual and overlooks the a covered bridge over the Housatonic River. The wait staff is fantastic. Friends from NYC travel here on weekends for lunch just for the food and view!
The best food for miles around and a charming spot to boot. Excellent breakfast and lunch as well.
