We recently went back to Woodfire for a wine dinner and were really impressed with the direction of the place under Chef Tyler. I know for many "cheftestant" followers they may not believe this, but I truly believe the food was better than the previous regime. It was slightly more refined, and had that something extra both technically and with flavors. Suffice it to say, we had some of the best executed scallops, short ribs, and butter we've seen
The bartenders choice mystery drinks at the bar were interesting and fun. The 7 course prix fix with wine pairing was very good, especially the mixed grains appetizer and beef short rib. The corn cake desert was a mild disappointment, just average, after many fabulous courses. Now one of my favorites in ATL!
Food was delicious & wine pairings perfect, but we couldn't get past the rudeness of the staff. Even the bland decor (i.e., attic table when we made reservations well in advance) can slide if food and service make up for it, but when there's no warmth in the staff from bartender (owner?) to the waitstaff and sommelier, you just wish you were at the BBQ joint down the way for a smile. Proves affecting NYC attitude will not garner repeat customers.
One of the best Chefs around. Food is fresh, delicious, imaginative. Great cocktails as well. Definitely splurge for the chef's choice dinner.
$51 for my meal which included, a delicious homegrown cocktail. I passed on the second course, and had the 1st and 3rd. They also served a couple of gems including biscuits and rolls, all homemade, perfect size, & delicious. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding, everyone was exceptionally nice and very interested in what we thought of the food and the restaurant. They take pride in their restaurant!!!!
