I believe Zealous has closed. It was always hard to tell when they were open (may have been part of the problem), but now it's dark at all hours.
It is off the beaten path, but definitley worth a visit. As you walk into this contemporary styled restaurant you will immedialtey see a large wine cellar and bar area! The main room has high ceilings, but is very inviting and warm. The entrees are unique dishes with a flavorful international flare. The mango pancakes with foie gras was exceptional as was the sea bass entree. The seafood was very fresh and the desserts were also exceptional.
This an hidden Chicago Gem .Located in a converted industrial Space in the River North; a lovely contemporary décor with space and touches of greenery. The cuisine is highly original; a fusion of new american blended with austrian influences: flavourful yet delicate and technically impeccable; chef Taus really nails it!
Service was professionnal and friendly and the wine list is refrehing... And original .A must visit in Chicago.highly enjoyable
Good American in pleasant surroundings in River North.
Food is good but a bit overpriced.
