Charleston is truly outstanding! The food is imaginative, delicious, and perfectly prepared. The wine list is exceptional and the sommelier is an expert. The rooms are tastefully decorated, well illuminated, and not noisy. The wait staff a re very well trained. All-in-all, this is one of the very best restaurants in North America
I had not been here for 6 years and am happy to report that the food remains stellar (who would not love sea urchin panna cotta?) The service also is extremely helpful and attentive. The wine list is on the expensive side so you may want to try the wine pairings with one of the tasting menus. I tried the white truffle enrichment but cannot recommend it. At $90 for 4 grams it is $9000/lb and I have had better truffle flavor from truffle salt.

The food is sensational, combining modern French concepts with classic ones (ballotine of pheasant wrapped in spinach was sublime). The wine list is remarkable with depth and breadth, while fairly priced. The room is lovely and the staff are superbly trained and attentive. This is the best French restaurant in Chicago, and probably the entire midwest region!
We sat in a booth - unusual in that it had a low door to separate our feet and knees from the rest of the room. Most of the tables were long and communal. The menu was divided into small, medium, and large plates. Our table of 4 ordered quite a few and all were delicious. The staff brought them as the kitchen prepared them and it was family style dining which made for more different flavors to taste and a very convivial evening.
