I revisited recently, I am always amazed at what comes out of the kitchen, The food is impeccable and the staff will stand on their heads for you..nothing is too much trouble...I always leave feeling like an honored guest. I would rate this as a perfect dining experience, on par with the best of New York City.

Tried this again last night. We ate in the saloon, the least noisy part of the restaurant. We had a big dinner of fried clams, fresh herring, oysters and lobster. It was very very good. The fried foods were perfectly fried....the lobster sweet and tender, my companions loved the variety and textures of the oysters All in we ate a big meal, the food was great, the only aspect that needs improvement is the service.

Take your appetite and be ready for a very large serving of the wonderful specialty of the house...that's the duck of course. I prefer the Chinatown location...53rd Street is a bit too formal, and the staff don't know the meaning of the word warm (as in to be kind & inviting)

The food and wine are well selected. Specials sometimes sell out quickly...on one occasion the Florentine steak was overcooked, the very attentive staff swept it away and brought another to the table. Great Risotto, and the Tuscan kitchen fulfills its promise...A great wine list...large for so small a restaurant...concentrates on North Italy...well priced. All in, a very good experience, actually 3 experiences!
