Choosing a Chinese Restaurant in Chinatown from online reviews is very difficult. Every one is blasted for brusk or lacking service. We chose Oriental Garden because it sounded like the food was a cut above the others, but the comments about the service gave us pause. Well, it was fabulous-INCLUDING THE SERVICE. The language barrier may cause the impression of distance, but the staff was attentive and professional-and the food was great.

Terrible service. When I called them, twice I was on hold for 30 minutes. They do not care to answer their phones unless you transfer from the hotel operator. When I arrived for my lunch, I was seated in a cramped small table in the corner of the room. They refused to find me a better table, even though most of the room was empty. Limited menu, high prices ($49/entree), deplorable service...you do the math....go somewhere else!!!!

This is an impeccable bistro, offering the best Frites this side of the Atlantic (ask for the three peppercorn sauce on the side for dipping your fries--it is fantastic). I have been eating at Quatorze pretty regularly since 1991 and it has never disappointed. Their brasied duck is perfection and in the WInter months you must try their Cassoulet. I do not understand how anyone can see it as "stuffy"--the athmosphere is lively and energettic.

This is a spectacular experience on all levels. The food is exquisite and the views of Lincoln Center make for an unforgettable experience. When going, you must order their Souffls to be served during the intermission of the opera. They have added Sushi to their menu, but unlike the mediocre Sushi additions to restaurant menus, the Grand Tier offers expertly prepared maki. I have been a Zagat reader for many years, and mostly agree with the ratings, but I simply cannot understand how this restaurant could be given only an 18 food rating. It is most definitely a 22 or even a 23.
