We highly to prefer to try new restaurants rather than returning to past favorites, but we're already looking forward to our next lunch at Mission Chinese ... the three dishes we shared were very different from one another and each so good ... while the setting has the feel of being just thrown together, it actually seems quite thoughtful ... we enjoyed the local wines on tap as well.

Perhaps the best roll we've had; the Chirashi seemed disappointing at first, since I order it for the variety and interest but this was just on a simple plate, not even prepared in the typical bowl...but the quality was so high that we were entirely pleased. Choosing our own wine to bring is a great feature for sushi as well, and a good after-museum dinner location.

As good as the hype(!) Too, too many bakeries--even those with lines out the door--for years have traded in prettily decorated but styrofoam-and-cardboard tasting confections. These desserts are both good and interesting. This is not a place for those wishing to merely order a standard "number three combo meal" or too uncomfortable to read the board, look at the goods, and interact with the brightly helpful staff. A bit of an adventure rewarded!
Just right for a weekend evening in the neighborhood - the sidewalk seating is extensive and the entire restaurant opens nicely to the outdoors in good weather. The food was more interesting and varied than many Indian menus without being "dumbed down" - we enjoyed our dinner thoroughly. The "H Street Platter" gave us a good overview of the kitchen's skill, the specialty drinks were right on the money, and the goat vindaloo was impressive...
