Excellent food, but confusing menu. Difficult to match courses nicely. Service was good, but no attention from captain or any one in charge. Space is odd and difficult to find a comfortable location except for the booths. The wine list presentation on an iPad is ridiculous. While the list itself is excellent, the means of delivering it is not -- impossible to study and compare wines when making a selection always "scrolling." Awkward & odd.
Had read several disappointing reviews so we were pleasantly pleased when the food was excellent from the appetizer (fried baccala and lemon) to the spaghetti vongole to the trout in olive oil. The selection of wines by the glass was excellent and reasonably priced. Service by waiters was excellent; bus help lacking. However, all in all a good experience.
What a nice surprise! The food here was wonderful, especially the calamari salad, which is a real sleeper on the menu as an appetizer. So good, I would travel "all the way uptown" again to have it. Wine list was another surprise with some excellent and thoughtful choices. Service was also a nice surprise. Rather laid back atmosphere, but definitely worth a visit.

Not trendy, but a wonderful old neighborhood restaurant. On a return visit, the same old menu had been updated and was excellent. A special request was honored; the service gracious and friendly. What a nice relief to find what has become a lost art in the New York restaurant scene.
