Second trip to Oak, and not disappointed. Creative appetizer (where else have you seen fried lobster?), excellent steaks, well-prepared, with the sides you expect. Wine list terrific. Fully the quality of an NYC steakhouse without the attitude. Can't wait to go back again.

A different menu and tone to the food, but still one of the best rooms for a meal in the city, and the new approach measures up well. Will definitely return, hope that the new management maintains the des Artistes approach of seasonal menus.
Indifferent service and poor setting (too noisy for conversation) more than offset the quality of the food (which was very well conceived and well executed), not going back nor recommending to friends.

with so many good and excellent steak houses in NYC, no need to return. sirloin was ordinary (no wonder they push the sauces!), spinach salad would have been helped by more pancetta. service was inattentive bordering on simply poor.
