Great neighborhood place, always reliable. Omelets and burgers are excellent, as are the salads. Perfect for a lunch meeting or a pre-movie dinner. Bar is downstairs, which keeps the noise level in the dining room acceptable.
Excellent food, but the noise level makes it impossible at dinner time if you're a grownup and want to actually talk to your dinner companion. Lunch works better, but now, with the Highline, even lunch can be jammed. But the food is fresh and very well prepared, and the service is outstanding.

Totally enjoyable. Five restaurants failed in this space over 10 years, but this one's a keeper. Beautiful decor, amazingly courteous and knowledgeable staff, well prepared unpretentious mains, veggies and great bread. Wine are mildly pricey but generous pourings justify the cost. Finish dinner before 9 if you want to hear conversation at your table. Bravo, a new neighborhood treasure.

So it's a really, really good pastrami sandwich. Is it worth the wait on weekends? I think so.
