I'm not crazy about the bizarre decor, or the opera/ballet crowd, but I have to give credit where credit is due: Jardiniere delivers big time in the food department, especially its masterful caviar presentation. The wine list is similarly wonderful.
What a great remodeling! The Plumed Horse went from an old folks' home to the best place in the south Bay. The wine list was nothing short of amazing, the caviar was perfect, and the entrees themselves were inventive and perfectly prepared. The only drawback was service, which is difficult to describe. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive, but lacked the refinement and professionalism one expects from such an expensive place. I'm sure this will be corrected in time, however.
