My wife and I had a lovely anniversary dinner. The restaurant was busy on a Friday evening, but quiet. The appetizer, salads, our different entree curries, and a tart a la mode were all delicious. Service was impeccable. We will return.

The evening was ruined by the appearance of a live cockroach on the table. The server was totally uninterested and nonchalant. Food is OK, but pricey, considering the location, decor, and quality of service. We will not return.

"Our first visit to the legendary deli. We enjoyed the un-frantic, unrushed atmosphere. Both the hot pastrami sandwich and cheese blintzes (not a kosher pairing, but worth the guilt) were sublime. Friendly, homey service. Worth the schlep we made from the theater district. We shall return."
