It's been a while since we've been here, but still equally as impressive as it was then. The service was perfect, the food was unique and delicious, and the decor is holding up quite well - stylistically. Overall, our evening was an experience; one that is not soon to be forgotten.
We were “Verbally dragged” out after passing the doorman telling him that our friend was at the bar. A humiliating and embarrassing experience that smacked of the treatment one would expect at a low-class strip joint. Decided to stay to not ruin the evening for our friends. Apologetic manager made annoying excuses (we realize it is a small place) sent out two comp appetizers, nice, but not commensurate at all for the offense. Will we ever return?
Our experience at Tinto was incredible. Philadelphia restaurants are terrific, but it's been a while since we have been so impressed. The staff was very knowledgeable and professional while the food was like nothing we’ve experienced before.
The Happy Rooster is an unassuming neighborhood treasure with wonderful food and no-nonsense, well-experienced service. To have a fine meal, and not have to deal with the typical eatery hubbub, go here.
