some of the best BBQ I've had. prob the best in boston. fun sauces lets you choose your style. love the idea of the trays with one hot and one cold side. but the sides could use a little work. collard greens were good. but chopped chunky cole slaw was tough and tasteless. black eyed peas too salty. and carrot salad was a good idea but didn't pack enough flavor. that said, meat was amazing, cocktails were great, even the rosé on tap was very good

This place has changed, or rather is changing, since the initial review and articles. The new manager/bartender told us a large restaurant consulting group is overhauling the place. It shows. Who knows what it will end up being. But right now they don't know their own wine/cocktail list, or they're out of it. Service is slow. Food no longer has a "southern slant." There's a new chef too. Food is just bad and over salted. Wait. Or just don't go.
Bar views are better than bay views. Yet again, I went because it was open late as the pushy barker outside made clear. And yet again I hated it. Horrible, overpriced food. Embarrassing wine list. The view does not make up for it. There are plenty of places to dine with bay views. Stick to the bar, where you'll get fun martinis and an even better view of Commercial street. Then grab a sandwich and sit on the beach for you bay views.
Spot-on, real Italian with attentive, knowledgeable service. No spaghetti and meatballs here. The flavors are fresh, innovative and balanced (try the smoked fished pasta). I usually skip the pasta course at other places, but don't. They will even split and share for you. Beautiful building, local art and outdoor patio. My only concern is it's often pretty empty. Don't think the tourists know what to do with real Italian in an upscale setting.
