You have to be into it. I've have biker friends. Walking in, in the words of friends, is 'not done'!! Pitchers of beer, the smell of pot, the wait-in-line BBQ in the large bier garten -- it's not typical for a San Francisco neighborhood, but it is very fun. You meet friends at the communal tables and everyone shares their beer.
On the water it is a very nice place to sit at the bar or outside in good weather. The food is consistent, the service very good. Seafood is fresh and salad as well.
The place is always packed. As everthing in the neighborhood, it is best on a sunny day when you can sit and enjoy the great pizza. This is one of the best pizzas in SF. The wine is very nice for a fair price, but you don't have to wait long for a pizza no matter how busy they are.

Coctail of the day, what a great idea! They are always great, but you have trouble getting them again. Damn! Always excellent food!! The place is packed Thursday to Saturday, but they are always there to get you a drink to wait even when there is no bar space. It's worth the wait.
