I had the Shrimp in a cup, which was fried shrimp with aioli and a tin can of fries on the side. I also had a Sidecar to drink, made by a fellow former Marine bartender. The food and drink were both outstanding and inventive.
Unlike most of your reviewers, I ventured up the stairs to the dining room. Plenty of tables but the place was packed. One of my friends was working his way through the burger list, he had the Romanoff burger with sour cream and caviar. I had the bacon burger and the other friend had the chili cheesburger. Incidentally, all the burgers come with baked potatoes, a very NO quirk. All were pronounced very good. Peanut butter/bacon burger? Next
I came for the Revillion meal. Nice choices. The river views were excellent, they had a bonfire burning that evening. The in-house piano player was excellent, the sangria was delicious, I'll have to come back for their regular menu but I was impressed with the restaurant overall.
The famous fried chicken is good, not the best I ever had but damned good. The fried catfish though was phenomenal! Crisp and crunchy batter, fall apart texture of the fish, perfect. The sides were also good but the fish won the day. Long cab ride from the Quarter. As you can see from my picture, the chef/owner Kerry came out and posed for a picture with me, I told her that was the best piece of fried fish I'd ever eaten.
