Delicious food for our first night in Paris. Escargot, salad, rotisserie chicken, fish, and very nice wine. Friendly staff, not too crowded, in a well lit place with modern decor.

We really enjoyed this place, which was a few blocks from our hotel in the Latin Quarter. The food was quite good - our group had coquilles st jacques, steak, and calamari - and we had an excellent Pommard. The interior is very tastefully done and takes one back in time to the 20's or 30's, and it overlooks a lovely terrace. Not many foreigners here so far as I could tell.
I dined here alone and had a very enjoyable basic country French meal - vegetable soup and beef burgundy with the house's pinot noir. I quite enjoyed the waiters. The interior is a red checker cloth kind of place, and seems quite popular in the neighborhood with many customers from nearby universities.
We loved this place. It was like being transported back in time 100 years with the beautiful decor. The food was very good - the leg of lamb with au gratin was really wonderful, my wife's fish less so but still good, the wine list was good, the service was very attentive and friendly. That being said, the decor really is special.
