Very trendy decor, the food was superb. My wife and I did the chef's tasting menu (now only 1 option for 7 courses @ $80) and it was fantastic. We did the wine pairings as well ($70 pp) which was well worth it. Definitely make a reservation as what you see in the picture here is the entire restaurant, but it is really cool to be able to see the chef preparing you dinner in front of you!
Absolutely fantastic Italian food. And let me tell you, the chefs and waiters are all Italian! Service is not speedy - it is a nice European-enjoy-you-meal pace so just be prepared for that. The quality of the food is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. I really consider this a hidden gem in NYC.

Don't expect a cheap dinner here, but do expect fantastic food. Did the seafood tasting menu with wine parings (~225 pp) and it was one of the best experiences I have had in NYC. Service was great, decor is what it is. The parings were perfect and the sommelier came over with each pairing to describe the wine pairing. Highly recommended for a special occasion!
