Funky dive of a joint near the Texas capitol. It takes courage to get past the exterior, but once inside the burgers, chili (the medium is pretty spicy) and Tex-Mex specialties win the day. Portions are large; a "small" bowl of chili is about 1 1/2 cups.

Sometimes you just feeling like a hearty bowl of chili or coronary inducing plate of fajitas nachos, this is where I go to indulge that death wish. There's no pretentiousness here, what you see is what you get at the TX Chili Parlor. In leu of clever carved radish garnishes and unidentifiable green sauces in the shape of a yin yang symbols, service is proportional to how well your bands t-shirt is received. Stevie Ray Vaughan shirt = good service

An Austin Classic. A must visit for anyone seeking a genuine Texas restaurant tucked near the Capitol. Try the Gringo Burger and a Magnum (tall rum and coke) - sure to please!
