the flat bread is great, the service is warm but everything else here is a bit of a disappointment... a real shame; as the people really are lovely
We were very exited about trying this place as we had heard fantastic reviews but we have to say that we were very disappointed, compared to all the smaller moms-n-pops etnic restaurants in Ann Arbor. The best thing was the flat breads and eating with our hands. The food in itself wasn't as interesting as we had expected and certainly no novelty. This Ethiopia restaurant is very cool. No eating utensil required. the Injera bread is very tasty and the vegetables are well seasoned. It is a must to experience.
Though it's probably a back handed compliment to say that the Blue Nile is the best Ethiopian restaurant in all of Michigan (how many more are there), the food here rivals the best Ethiopian cuisine I've sampled in Chicago and Washington, DC.
