Mother’s Day is right around the corner and mom deserves much more than a bouquet of flowers or breakfast in bed. This year, pamper her with brunch at one of New York City’s top restaurants. Whether she’ll enjoy an elegant afternoon tea or Italian breakfast, one thing’s for sure - you better make the reservations now.

New York Botanical GardenCelebrate mom and Mother Nature at the same time with a garden party hosted by Stephen Starr Events. A grand buffet ($55-$75) with stations for smoked fish, custom omelets and dessert crepes will be laid out in the sunlit Garden Terrace Room. Once you’ve filled up, take a stroll through the tree-lined grounds and have your photo snapped by a vintage-style photographer. (11AM–4PM; 718-817-8700)

Stella 34 Trattoria: Before you take mom shopping, sit down at this sleek trattoria located inside Macy’s flagship store. Chef Jarett Appell’s new brunch menu features Italian-inspired fare: eggs benedict with mortadella, gravlax-topped pizza and veal meatball pagnotelle. Moms will receive a free tote bag and Macy’s discount. (11 AM-4 PM; 212-967-9251)

The GanderTake advantage of the just-launched brunch at Jesse Schenker’s new Union Square eatery and treat mom to a la carte specials like a decadent lobster pot pie and rhubarb tart with buttermilk-ginger ice cream. (11 AM-3 PM; 212-229-9500)

FP Patisserie: Slide into the tufted leather banquettes at Francois Payard’s Salón de Thé for a $35 Parisian brunch. A glass of rhubarb prosecco comes with your choice of a sweet or savory entree such as brioche pain perdu, classic croque monsieur or quiche Lorraine. All moms leave with treats in tow: a complimentary box of the lauded pâtissier’s macarons. (10 AM–5 PM; 212-717-5252)

Tavern on the Green: Be the first to check out brunch at this newly-renovated Central Park icon. Chef Katy Sparks will debut a three-course prix-fixe meal on Mother’s Day weekend that celebrates her creative, seasonal approach to all-American fare. (10 AM-4 PM; 212-877-8684)

Hakkasan: Taking mom to a Broadway show? Swing by this luxe midtown restaurant for a $39 prix-fixe dim sum brunch, featuring signature plates like scallop shumai, king crab noodle roll and a truffle and roast duck bun. There will also be special cocktail ($15) for the occasion, a blackberry lemonade fizz made with Ford’s Gin and Lillet Rose. (11:30 AM-3 PM; 212-776-1818)

Fishtag: Let mom channel her inner Hoda and Kathie Lee with a boozy afternoon at Michael Psilakis’ uptown Greek tavern. Choose from 11 spins on bloody Marys and mimosas to go with dishes like smoked trout hash and ricotta pancakes. Moms also get a complimentary half bottle of Roederer Estate Anderson Valley Sparkling Wine with their meal. (Noon-3 PM; 212-362-7470)

The Breslin Bar & Dining Room: Try new spring dishes or stick with beloved favorites - like the cumin mayo-slathered lamb burger - at April Bloomfield and Ken Friedman’s hotel gastropub. If mom’s keeping it light, go with EJ’s granola, a recipe by Friedman’s mom Esther Jane. (7 AM-4 PM; 212-679-1939)

Louro: Mom holds an extra special place in chef David Santos’s heart - she taught him to cook as a kid - so the toque is whipping up a special dessert that she used to make. After a three-course brunch ($65) highlighting spring’s plentiful bounty (roasted chicken with fiddlehead ferns, halibut and bean cassoulet), moms head out with a strawberry pound cake topped with rosewater icing. (1 PM-8 PM; 212-206-06060)

The Palm Court: Give the lady of the hour the royal treatment at this elegant restaurant inside the Plaza Hotel. The prix-fixe afternoon tea ($75) includes a tower of sandwiches and scones ($95 with champagne). (1 PM-4:30 PM; 212-546-5300)
