Spring is finally in full bloom, and it’s time for a fiesta. Here are 16 ways to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with food and drink in Philly on May 5.

Cafe Ynez

Swing by the Graduate Hospital BYO any time and score a free shot of tequila when you order the special $10 trio of cochinita pibil pork tacos. For more drinks with your meal, follow on Twitter to find out the secret password and get $2 off a fresh juice cocktail mixer.

Marcie Turney and Valerie Safran are celebrating with extended happy hours. From 3-5 PM, blood orange margaritas will go for $6 a pop, complemented by half-price nachos and two-for-$5 fried chicken tacos. From 10 PM-midnight, $10 will bring a shot of tequila, a Tecate and a carnitas taco for the perfect late-night finish.

Feel the Cancun vibes as the 20th and Lombard tavern celebrates its first Cinco de Mayo with special t-shirts and special throughout the evening. Margaritas will go for $7, beers are yours for $2 and rumor has it there may even be a mariachi band.

Taproom on 19th

Get down with the best lamb tacos in the city when the South Philly Barbacoa cart pops up at this Girard Estate bar from  5 PM-2 AM (or whenever supplies run out, which will be quickly). Barbacoa and pancita tacos go for $3 each, perfect with draft brews by Sixpoint, $5 margaritas and $7 house-infused strawberry Tequila por mi Amante drinks.

The party goes all day long at Jose Garces’ West Philly cantina. From 11:30 AM-10 PM, margaritas and tequila-Modelo citywides will be on special for $5, select drafts are $3 and Tecates are $2. Soak up the booze with two-for-$5 tacos in pollo, carnitas or mahi mahi style.

From noon-10 PM, this South Street comfort food haven is going south of the border, with $5 margaritas (or $20 for a pitcher) in flavors like strawberry, lime, passion fruit or blood orange. Also look for $3 Dos Equis and Corona and $5 guac and chips, $14 chorizo burgers and $7 churros.

McGillin’s Olde Ale House

Get an Irish twist on the Mexican theme at this Midtown Village pub, where drink on special from 7 PM-2 AM will include margaritas, daiquiris, rum runners, Bay Breezes and beer. Keep the night going by snacking on Irish chimichangas, Corona-battered fish ‘n’ chips and a burger con queso.

Loco Pez

The Fishtown taqueria is teaming up with the chefs from new BYO helm on a special fancy taco (with ramps!) to be served from 5 PM onward (three for $14). Also look for cocktail specials made with Hornitos tequila and free sombrero giveaways.

A block party will take over the sidewalk outside this Center City happy spot, with a spit-roasted pig and deals on great beer. Fear not, there will also be plenty of mezcal and tequila.

Nick’s Roast Beef 

Want to meet the “Most Interesting Man in the World”? No guarantees, but Dos Equis promoters have promised selfies of sorts with him at this Old City hangout, where the party runs from 5:30-9 PM. Expect $5 margs and shots of tequila, $3 Dos Equis lagers, $2 tacos and $5 nachos.

Bar Volvér

Milagro tequila is swooping into Jose Garces’s velvety cocktail lounge in the Kimmel Center from 5-8 PM with a trio of special drinks. As you dance to music by DJ Christian Martinez, you can also sip on $6 mezcal-Bloody Mary citywides, $5 Pacifico beers and $12 tequila tasting flights. The Distrito taco truck will serve food.

Heard of the South Philly taco? This Thai-Mexi taqueria is twisting that pizza-wrapped cheesesteak into a whole new mashup for Cinco de Mayo. From 5-10 PM, a special pizza steak nachos will go for $5 per order, and regular apps will also be $5.

Kick it old school at this South Street pub with $3 Coronas and Corona Light, $5 margaritas, $3 shots and additional specials at the bar.

Chestnut Hill’s newest patio will be bumping with deals from 11:30 AM onward. Look for $5 margaritas and beer-garitas, $2 Mexican beers (or a bucket of ‘em for $10) and Taco Tuesday pricing available all day long. Live music will start at 3 PM.

Out in Bryn Mawr, this tequila bar is getting into Mexican style with two $5 South Philly gorditas. The roast pork comes with classic broccoli rabe plus refried beans and Roncal cheese, and the veggie has everything above except the pork.
