3 New Spring Cocktails to Sip Now

In the LA cocktail world, spring means the end of winter citrus and the beginning of strawberries and rhubarb in the glass. And bubbles, lots and lots of bubbles. Here are three must-try spots to sip some of the best of the season right now.

Norah: The cocktail program at the swank West Hollywood newcomer is led by Aussie Hamish McShane, previously of Sydney’s Bayswater Brasserie and Salon Blanc. McShane brings a passion and talent for fresh, seasonal cocktails via house-made cordials and syrups. A couple of highlights on offer right now: the very magenta Flower Power, a mix of rye, hibiscus, Meyer lemon, egg white and citrus oil; the Pretty in Pink, vodka with Aperol, rhubarb, lemon, bubbles and rose water; the Bitter Sweetness made with tequila, amaro, herbal liqueur, grapefruit, lime and bubbles.

Lucques: Barman Christiaan​ Rollich always has something fantastic up his sleeve (just watch his Instagram) at Suzanne Goin and Caroline Styne's West Hollywood restaurant, which means there are some delicious newcomers this season. Case in point: The Cortez, which blends tequila, lime, cola syrup and chile de arbol​. 

Faith & Flower: The Downtown restaurant and lounge just had its second anniversary, which is cause for a celebration of the cocktail kind. Barmen Ryan Wainwright and Darwin Pornel have created an entire new series of drinks, separated into three categories: Bubbles, Refreshing; Crisp, Clean; and Spirituous, Provocative. There are things like the Shiso Easy, a refreshing one made with tequila, Contratto Bianco, shiso, cucumber and lime; the St. Tropez Daisy, made with rhum agricole, Ferrand Dry Curaçao, honey, lime and orange bitters; and the headier Character Development made with Buffalo Trace bourbon, amaro and Contratto Americano​ Rosso.
