Construction - the demolition part, at least - has begun at 914 North Second Street, soon to be home to Jason Evenchik’s newest bar/restaurant (he also owns or co-owns Vintage, Time, Bar, Garage and Growlers). Though there’s still no official name for the Northern Liberties spot, which is directly across the street from North Bowl, additional details are coming together.

Chef Sean Magee, currently at Time, will move to the new spot and create a menu using vegetables and herbs from gardens on both the roof and the patio, which will host outdoor seating. Vertical gardens down the side of the building are also being considered. (Time sous chef Alex Ferrari will step up to run that Midtown Village kitchen.)

Evenchik tells us that although the new spot will be more food-focused than many of his others, there will be 50 beers on tap and a whiskey list “to rival that at Time,” an impressive undertaking, since Time is known for its brown liquor selection.

Time general manager Terrence Leach (who is also a partner in Bar and Garage) will move to the NoLibs joint and - with the help of Grammy-winning producer Aaron Levinson - will curate a music program that features jazz every single night.

Kate Moroney, currently GM at Vintage, will continue to oversee the wine program there but will also step up to a more company-wide role and help with operations at the new place. Evenchik is targeting “spring, maybe, early summer” for an opening, with the goal to get the gardens planted in early spring. All in all, it makes for an impressive addition to North Second Street.
