Craft-Beer Fest

July 1, 8, 15, 22, 29: Each Wednesday from July 1 through September 9, The Grove and Discovery Green present Sundown at the Grove, an event featuring craft-beer flights (four 4-oz. pours) from breweries around the country as well as Texas favorites like Saint Arnold, Karbach and 8th Wonder, plus bites from the restaurant (5:30-8 PM; $20 per person)

Country 'Cue

July 3, 4: Quattro at Four Seasons Houston Hotel are celebrating country crooner Garth Brooks as he brings his world tour as to Downtown’s Toyota Center. Beginning at 4 PM each night, the restaurant will roll out a barbecue buffet with all the fixings accompanied by drinks and live country music ($39 for the barbecue buffet, plus an optional $25 for the beverage package). Bonus: Quattro will offer free parking so you can walk to Toyota Center from the hotel and also plans to keep the party going until midnight for after-concert celebrations.

Sweet Collaboration

July 6: Fluff Bake Bar's Rebecca Masson and guest chef Matt McCallister (Dallas' FT33) will host a multi-course dinner of Southern fare with global twists, including crab and green tomatoes with Vietnamese dipping sauce and pork jowl with a summer succotash ($95 per person, plus an additional $55 for wine pairings). Steakhouse Dinner Series

July 8, 15, 22, 29: The Landry’s restaurant group are bringing back their annual “Summer Chef Series” dinners held on select Wednesday evenings through August 12.  The private dining experience will be hosted by executive chefs from the area. On July 8, head to Morton's the Steakhouse for a five-course wine pairing dinner that includes dishes like a shiitake-topped ahi tuna, broiled Chilean sea bass and beef tenderloin. After that, the series will move to Brenner's Steakhouse on July 15. (7 PM; $95 per person).

Ice Cream Scoop-Off

July 23: Yellow Rose Distilling celebrates National Ice Cream Month with a frosty competition that highlights frozen treats from a dozen contestants. A portion of ticket proceeds will benefit Small Steps Nurturing Center (6:30-9 PM; $35 per person).

Brennan's Cooking Class

July 31: Get cooking tips from Brennan's Houston executive chef Danny Trace at this “Way Back When" cooking demo inspired by his childhood favorite eats. Learn how to make dishes like Brennan's signature turtle soup and blueberry cannoli and enjoy hors d'oeuvres and three-course meal with matching wines or cocktails. The class costs $150 per couple and check-in time is at 6:30 PM.
