Remember when summer used to be Miami's downtime? Well, not this season. Not only have new restaurants been popping up everywhere — Mignonette, anyone? — but several have shut their doors for good. Here are six restaurants that closed this summer.

1. Prost Wurst Grill & Bierhouse

After being opened for about a week, this German sausage house quickly closed shop in Brickell, saying it had some kinks that needed to be worked out.

2. Lorenzo

South Beach's Italian restaurant known for its quiet ambiance and rich boar gnocchi folded within nine months of bringing in a new chef from New York's Scarpetta.

3. Egg and Dart

The Design District's four-year-old Greek spot quietly closed its doors late this summer with a handwritten "closed" sign on the door, but nothing else to comfort curious fans.

4. PB Steak

The Pubbelly Boys' closed their cozy Sunset Harbour steakhouse last month because of rising rent costs, but are currently looking to set up shop elsewhere. Perhaps the Design District or Midtown?

5. Michy's

Chef Michelle Bernstein's American bistro in the MiMo District closed this summer. But fear not, Bernstein fans, she plans to reopen it in the near future with a brand-new look and concept.

6. Umami Burger

The California-based burger joint closed its South Beach outpost in June, due to construction on Alton Road. The chain hopes to open a new location in Miami, but no word on when and where.
