On Wednesday, March 9, the annual Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP) hosted an event honoring chef Daniel Humm (Eleven Madison Park, The NoMad) at Chelsea Piers' Pier 60 (Humm, pictured with Tim Zagat above).

Featured tastings from 43 of New York's most coveted chefs — everyone from Blue Hill's Dan Barber to Red Rooster's Marcus Samuelsson — would have been benefit enough, but the evening also raised funds for disadvantaged youth interested in the culinary arts. More than $1,200,000 were raised — the most in the event's history — and will provide job training, scholarships, education, mentorship and job opportunities for those hoping to pursue a career in the industry.
