In the site of the promising and tragically Sandy-destroyed Governor, in Dumbo, a phoenix called Atrium is opening tonight. The seasonal restaurant features the cooking of Provencal chef Laurent Kalkotour (a DB Bistro alum) in ingredient-focused, eclectic preparations including soft-cooked egg with crispy spelt, bacon, mache and Parmesan, or chicken with spiced eggplant, yogurt, harissa and pine nuts. Best Sommelier in America 2011 winner Alexander LaPratt (formerly of Jean Georges) is heading up the drinks program, so you know that will be good, and as a bonus, the contemporary two-story space has views of the Brooklyn Bridge. Check out Atrium for dinner seven nights a week.
