Best Thing We Ate This Weekend: Fish Torta at Rippers

One of the most heartening things about summer 2013 is the way our beaches rallied and opened for the season despite extensive hurricane damage. Out at the Rockaways, although the cement boardwalk that used to stretch in either direction is gone, Rippers is as jammed as ever. Our go-to order at the Roberta's-by-the-sea eatery and bar is the fish torta, a griddled wedge of dogfish with refried black beans, cabbage, spicy mayo, cilantro and lime.
