New Yorkers may not be the biggest fans of Boston exports, especially now that the Red Sox were crowned World Series champs. But now that Toro has settled into the Manhattan scene without mobs of Yankees fans showing up outside, another Beantown original is about to move in, with the opening of Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse across from Grand Central Terminal next week. Earning Zagat scores no lower than 25 in all of the restaurant group's current cities, including Philadelphia and Atlanta, it's a meatery that's prime to deliver. After all, if it’s one thing New Yorkers love, it’s decadence, and here that'll translate to center-cut filet mignon, monstrous veal chops and Kobe beef meatballs. The newcomer is also likely to offer an extensive wine list, with sommelier Chris Sweet overseeing the bottle collection. Either way, Davio’s Manhattan is shaping up to be one place fine dining aficionados will enjoy no matter what team they follow.-Billy Lyons
