Award-winning chef Dominique Crenn of the namesake acclaimed eatery, Atelier Crenn, will be opening a casual, all-day, meat-free cafe concept in Hayes Valley on August 11 called Petit Crenn. The spot will serve all three daily meals beginning in the morning with pastries, fresh bread, omelettes along with Stumptown coffee; light lunch options like tartines, crepes, and salads and a five-course prix-fixe seafood dinner for $72 (note, until September the spot will be dinner-only). Located in the former Bar Jules space, the concept is inspired by the food Crenn grew up with in the Brittany region of France, but minus the meat. In the drinks department, wine director Courtney Humiston will source natural wines from France including an array of Champagnes, whites and roses to pair with the seafood-focused menu as well as a variety of ciders both from the U.S. and abroad.
Stay tunes for a First Look next week.
