The hottest dining scene in Philadelphia? Opinions might differ, but there’s no doubt East Passyunk Avenue will be part of the discussion. The South Philly strip is now extremely dense with great restaurants, both old and new. That’s the main reason to mark your calendar for East Passyunk Restaurant Week (Sunday, February 22, through Saturday, February 28), when 28 establishments will be offering special three-course meals priced at either $15, $25 or $35. Actual menus won’t be released until the end of January, but here are seven more reasons to get excited:

1. New Restaurants

Making their Restaurant Week debut are seven restaurants, two of which aren’t even open yet: Bing Bing (from the Cheu Noodle Bar guys) and P’unk Burger (from the Slice family). The other newcomers to the promotion are Townsend, Brigantessa, Palladino’s, Chhaya and Dante Espresso Bar.

2. Hot Restaurants

The Avenue is home to some of the hottest restaurants in the city right now, including the aforementioned Townsend, Brigantessa and Palladino’s. Other top dining rooms like Fond, Le Virtu, Noord and Will (see the hamachi pictured above) are all on the list. Check out the full lineup here.

3. Old Favorites

Many standbys are also participating: red-sauce Italians like Marra’s and Chiarella's; Mexican spots like El Zarape and Cantina Los Caballitos; and beer havens like Pub on Passyunk East (aka the POPE) and Fountain Porter.

4. Discounted Drinks

Restaurants with liquor licenses will be offering discounted cocktails to start the prix fixe meals, including several made with sponsors Sailor Jerry rum, Hendrick’s gin and Reyka vodka.

5. Valet Parking

If you’re worried about finding a spot for your car, note that valet parking will also be discounted for RW guests. Usually $21, the service will be just $12 if you’re hitting up a participating restaurant.

6. Retail Deals

As they’ve done in years past, lots of the boutiques and retail shops along the stretch will be running sales in solidarity with the promotion, as well as hosting free tastings and evening soirees. Stay tuned for details.

7. Instagram Contest

Extra incentive to post your food pics on Instagram (like you needed it): tag your photo with #EPRW and you’ll be automatically entered to win a pair of tickets to the East Passyunk street festival Flavors of the Avenue.
