Starting this Saturday, Eat Drink SF (formerly SF Chefs) launches its preview series at the Farmers Market. With some major changes this year, including a new venue at Fort Mason to allow for more guests, it's stirring up lots of anticipation for what's to come. We've been going to the fest annually since its inception (here are some notes from last year), finding the Grand Tastings and evening events one big party showcasing the range and scope of Bay Area chefs.

Preview Demos: This year's preview demo theme is “oddballs of the market.” Each Saturday, a notable chef will play with a farm-stand produce oddity and turn it into something delicious.

Chef Line-Up: Ryan Pollnow of Central Kitchen (July 5), Joanne Weir of Copita Tequileria y Comida (July 12), Anthony Strong of Delfina Restaurant Group (July 19), and Evan Bloom and Leo Beckerman of Wise Sons Jewish Delicatessen (July 26).

Details: Free every Saturday in July at 11 AM at the Ferry Building Farmers Market. Seats are first-come, first-served.

Another Preview Event: 2014 Lamb Jam Tour on Sunday, July 13, at 1 PM (VIP) and 2 PM (general admission). The American Lamb Board collaborates with Eat Drink SF on this extravaganza at The General's Residence at Fort Mason, featuring 12 SF chefs live-butchering lamb and preparing it numerous ways with local beer and wine.
