There’s a new way to avoid the line at Fat Rice, besides getting there at 5:30 PM on a Tuesday. Chef Abraham Conlon creates this month’s guest pie at Lone Wolf. The pie is a take on his Portuguese chicken, one of our favorite dishes at the Macanese restaurant, which combines chicken, mussels and chorizo in a mild curry sauce. Conlon uses the same tender chicken swimming in the coconut curry and stuffs it inside a flaky Royal Pie crust. The Portuguese chicken pot pie is also filled with chorizo and olives, garnished with a chile-coated lemon and served with their signature Diablo hot sauce. Each pie is sold for $10 and proceeds benefit La Casa Norte, a non-profit that aids youths and families coping with homelessness. For an additional $2, pair the pie with a 3 Floyd’s Gumballhead or Zombie Dust. The pie is available until the end of the month.
