Franklin Barbecue Chef Competes on Chopped

No, not Aaron Franklin himself but Fiore Tedesco, who Franklin trusts to cut meat at his East 11th Street joint, and who also runs the L’Oca D’Oro “Dinners That Rock” supper club, will be competing on the hit TV show. The Italian-born chef has cooked with the best at places like Gramercy Tavern in New York, but his quirky sensibilities found a home in Austin, where he has dedicated himself to learning the art of barbecue.

Tedesco will appear on “A Chopped Thanksgiving” tonight on the Food Network at 9 PM, where he was given out-of-order components to a traditional Turkey Day meal and had 30 minutes to create each course.

Meanwhile, take note that L’Oca D’Oro is on hiatus for the moment as they look for a permanent brick-and-mortar space for 2014.
