Give a Coat, Get Dessert in Mt. Airy

It’s cold out there, and not everyone can afford a thick winter coat to help keep the chill at bay. Nine Mt. Airy restaurants have banded together for a coat drive with a sweet twist: bring a winter coat for donation when you go out for dinner and get a free dessert to finish your meal (minimum $15 purchase).

Bread pudding, chocolate crème brûlée and cinnamon coffee cake all sound like pretty good trade-ins for that jacket that’s been taking up space at the back of your closet for the last couple years. Check out the list of participants and dessert offerings below, and start digging out those coats for those who could use an extra layer this winter.

Avenida: tres leches or burnt caramel pudding
Earth Bread & Brewery: chocolate baby cake or bread pudding
Geechee Girl Rice Cafe: caramel cake
Goat Hollow: apple crisp or chocolate mousse
High Point Cafe: choice of specialty espresso drink
Jyoti Indian Bistro: choice of two house specialty desserts
Little Jimmie’s Bakery Cafe: cinnamon crème coffee cake
Trolley Car Diner: choice of milkshake
The Wine Thief: chocolate crème brûlée
