Some of Houston's finest restaurants serve up a mighty fine deal during happy hour. Spend the workweek enjoying discounted fare and a price break on drinks, and be home by 7 PM.

Drink prices drop during happy hour, including $6 red and white wines by the glass, $3 beers and $7 cocktails like the Purple Basil Martini, made with vodka, triple sec and purple basil, plus a handful of other refreshing libations. There's also a deal on eats: for $5-$7, choose from the likes of bison, lamb, chicken or veggie sliders and chicken satay with peanut sauce. Happy hour is weekdays from 4-7 PM on the patio (4100 Westheimer Rd.; 713-960-8472).

You won't soon forget the catchy happy-hour theme at Brennan’s: "Seven for Seven till Seven." All for just $7 apiece, sip select wines by the glass or order the Full Circle, which comes with one bottle of Amber and one bottle of Hefe beer. Pimm’s Cup and Pisco Punch are featured drinks on the cocktail list. Nosh on tasty bites like crawfish and poblano hushpuppies and the Chris Sitz BBQ crawfish waffle with cheese grits and Saint Arnold’s Beer aïoli sauce. The 777 happy-hour menu is available at the bar daily from 2-7 PM (3300 Smith St.; 713-522-9711).
