Look out, Corner Bistro, there's a new burger slinger in the Village: Iconic Upper East Side burger joint J.G. Melon is opening an outpost this Monday on MacDougal Street. The Mermaid Inn owner Danny Abrams, brother Steve (who owns Magnolia Bakery) and 30-year J.G. Melon alum Shaun Young acquired the rights to expand the brand earlier this year. Expect the same exact menu as the original location with an emphasis of course on their famous cheeseburgers (as well as sandwiches and salads) as well as desserts from Magnolia Bakery including key lime pie, vanilla bean cheesecake and sour cream apple pie.
