New Chefs at Resurrection Ale House and Isabella

This week, Resurrection Ale House says goodbye to chef Rhett Vellner, who stepped up to the executive position in August of 2012 but is leaving to pursue new ventures out west. Along with the chef change, proprietors Leigh Maida and Brendan Hartranft are also changing the hours of the Grays Ferry tavern: it will no longer be open on Mondays. When the doors do open on Tuesday, chef TJ Murphy - most recently at Matyson - will be running the kitchen. Expect a few changes to the menu, but know that the famous fried chicken will remain (215-735-2202).

At Conshohocken’s Isabella, chef Michael Cappon is moving on to a job running a specialty food department for a distributor. Sous chef Mario Rodriguez will step up to be top toque at the tapas-focused dining room. With experience at The Farm and Fisherman and NYC’s Telepan and Soho House, Rodriguez plans to broaden and diversify the Mediterranean reach of the cuisine of the menu. New specials will begin right away and a new menu will roll out after Valentine’s Day (484-532-7470).
