Want to rub shoulders with a chef? Buy a round for a bartender? We asked Chicago industry veterans where they can be found in their off-hours.

Who He Is: Scott Walton, executive chef at Howells & Hood
Where He Haunts: Rootstock
Why He’s There: “It’s truly a really unique spot in Humboldt Park. They buy a lot of their china from second-hand stores. They’ve got a small patio that’s a perfect hang out spot to sip on a variety of wines you don’t typically see at most places.”
What He’s Eating: Chicken liver pate and the grass-fed burger with bacon aioli, red onion, cheddar, Werp greens and house pickles
What He’s Drinking: 2001 Hauvette “La Roucas” Grenache blend from Les Baux de Provence, France
