If partying for a good cause is on your list of resolutions (which it should be), head out to Hometown Bar-B-Que this Monday. The restaurant is hosting a benefit for a local friend and is putting together a selection of Red Hook's most well known eateries. Guests will have the chance to snack on bites courtesy of Fort Defiance and The Good Fork among others, with Steve's Authentic Key Lime Pies on hand for dessert. To wash down all of that food, Van Brunt Stillhouse will be on hand to offer up some of their spirits including whiskey and rum. Live music and a cash bar will also be available, and tickets can be purchased at the door for $100.
Then again, burning up a sweat with Maialino chef Nick Anderer in some place other than the kitchen is something we're considering too. On February 10, the chef will be participating in a group ride at SoulCycle on 8 W 19th Street starting at 10:30 AM, with all proceeds going to support the Bed-Stuy Campaign Against Hunger. Tickets are $100 for the 45 minute class, and can be reserved here.
