Party Report: L.A. Loves Alex's Lemonade Was a Hit

As usual, there was a lot of yellow at Saturday's L.A. Loves Alex's Lemonade afternoon picnic, from the lemonade itself to the lemon aprons on all of the chefs to Lena Dunham's bright yellow backless frock. Held once again at Culver Studios in Culver City, the party was moved to the back parking lot due to a wedding taking place on the front lawn later that day, but that just allowed more room for roaming and noshing. It was hot, but there were enough bites and sips to cool everyone down, including an ice luge for shots, fantastic California wines and Craftsman Brewery beers.

There were pizza ovens, giant big-rig smokers for big beefy ribs, lots of grills fired up and deep fryers working overtime for all of the delicious morsels that were served. Chefs were in town from all over - a lot from Portland and Seattle, many from San Francisco, New Orleans - and of course our own top guns from LA. Hosted by Suzanne Goin, Caroline Styne and David Lentz, the the afternoon generated more than $530,000 to help fight childhood cancer, including a women chefs' dinner that went for around $30,000. This was their most successful fundraiser to date, with more than 1,700 revelers walking around and covertly snapping photos of Jimmy Kimmel, Neil Patrick Harris and Laura Dern. Take a look at the slideshow for some of the sights and bites of the day.
